I have gone through 3 in the past two days. :-( Car was running, timing belt broke, pulled engine and repaired heads, upgraded the turbos, injectors, exhaust, and ECU. All back together and went to start it and no spark. Troubleshot the problem by the book, power and ground at the coils, signal from the ECU to the PTU, checked the PTU harness to the coils and the ECU, no shorts to ground. Thought it was a bad PTU. Installed one of the earlier first gen PTUs and car started and ran for 10min, then the PTU failed. Installed a new PTU thinking the old style one had failed, car wouldn't start, zapped PTU! We think ithe ECU signal isn't right and is burning up the PTU but can't prove it. I have a 90TT ECU, can I use that one to prove or disprove it's the mod'd ECU?
